What is Delta-8 -THC? Delta-8-THC is nearly identical in the chemical structure to the version of THC that is in high concentrations in marijuana, Delta 9 THC. The major difference is that the double bond is shifted over one carbon. This difference in chemical structure affects the ability of Delta 8 to bind to the CB1 receptor thus may diminish the ability for the Delta 8 to produce as much of a psychotropic effect as Delta 9.

The word transdermal originates from the Latin root word “trans” meaning across and the Greek root word “derm” meaning skin, therefore transdermal CBD patches are specifically designed to allow the CBD to pass across the skin and enter into the bloodstream. This allows for a higher bioavailability, or the percentage of CBD actually absorbed into our system compared to ingestion methods that need to be metabolized first.
