Let's Go Outside : Colorado Springs

"Let's Go Outside" is a new campaign from Discover CBD, encouraging individuals to get ACTIVE and explore the area they live in! "Let's Go Outside" aims to offer a collection of places to visit that are 100% free and 100% fun. Since our first retail store was opened in Colorado Springs, it was our natural first pick.

Colorado Springs sits at an elevation of 6,035ft and is Colorado's second largest city, hosting at least 300 days of sunshine per year. Nothing beats FREE fun, so let's take a look at what this colorful city has to offer!

GARDEN OF THE GODS

Garden of the Gods is an official National Landmark. Decorated with astounding 300ft. tall sandstone, this park is the most visited attraction in the Pike's Peak Region. The red rocks coat the land in a manner that could hold your attention for days! This park offers trails that wind through the stone, letting you explore the ins and outs of the area on your very own private hike.

PALMER PARK

This local park is quite the hot spot throughout the spring and summer. A paved road leads you to countless pull-offs, where you're able to park your vehicle and begin hiking a trail! Palmer Park's trails are typically not strenuous and easy to navigate - but don't let that fool you, it's still important to bring your water! At the base of the park lies a small dog park if you need your companion to exert a little energy before hitting the trails.
MANITOU SPRINGS

While technically outside of Colorado Springs, this quaint historical district is a short drive away and very worth it! The small town of Manitou Springs offers a main street full of buzzing businesses and restaurants, but you don't need to spend a penny to enjoy yourself. There are 8 "healing fountains" throughout the town which all have a unique mineral makeup. A very long time ago, doctors would actually prescribe patients certain amounts of these natural mineral waters to cure everyday diseases. You can still drink from 7 fountains today!
GOLD CAMP ROAD
This area has more to offer than it may sound. Gold Camp Road offers numerous trails and pull-offs, filled with luscious greenery and large red sandstone formations. Several notable trails can be found on Gold Camp Road, including Seven Bridges Trail, May's Peak, and the Red Rock Canyon Open Space - all worth the hike! This road is unique because it actually used to be the railroad route from Colorado Springs to Cripple Creek. 2 of the 3 tunnels are open for thru traffic!
BEAR CREEK DOG PARK

Welcome to Puppy Paradise! This beautiful canine playground covers a spacious 10 acres of land, and has everything you would need. Bear Creek Dog Park has clean, public bathrooms for the humans, a long creek guided with large rocks and stone, and of course doggy bags at every corner to help maintain the natural environment. The best part of visiting this park is watching the happiest dogs in the world play together, leisurely swim, or just lounge around together. We dare you to visit Bear Creek Dog Park without cracking a smile.
