With all the stories in the news in regards to vaping it may be very difficult to discern what is factual. This blog will be a collective of resources from the Food & Drug Administration, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment. Testing done by the FDA, CDC and even NBC News as of 9/27/19 has identified substances such as Vitamin E acetate, Hydrogen Cyanide and even Synthetic Cannabinoids which are made artificially in a lab setting.
The big takeaway when it comes to the current news regarding vaping is best said by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration & Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
"Even though cases appear similar, it is not clear if they have a common cause or if they involve different diseases with similar presentations, which is an issue central to our investigation ." - FDA
"Regardless of the ongoing investigation: Anyone who uses an e-cigarette or vaping product should not buy these products (e.g., e-cigarette or vaping products with THC or CBD oils) off the street, and should not modify or add any substances to these products that are not intended by the manufacturer ." - CDC
