Many people using cannabis products, either recreationally or medicinally, know that marijuana can drastically affect sleep patterns. Many studies show that THC and CBD really do encourage a longer and more restful sleep. However, in many of these cases dreaming occurs less frequently, if at all. The sleep cycle has several stages, but probably the most well-known stages are deep sleep, also known as slow-wave sleep, and REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep. The brain is most active in REM sleep, which is when dreaming occurs. While REM sleep is important, compared to slow-wave sleep it usually doesn’t receive much attention....

Over the course of the last few months, the internet has been buzzing with speculation of the DEA potentially rescheduling marijuana from a Schedule I to Schedule II drug on July 1, 2016. Whether or not this happens is still up in the air. One of the first publications to break the story was the Santa Monica Observer citing that an anonymous DEA Lawyer representing the organization had disclosed the information that marijuana would be reclassified as a Schedule II drug this summer. In a groundbreaking move, the United States Congress has decided to allow veterans to discuss cannabis as a treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), chronic pain, and other ailments with their Department of Veteran’s Affairs (VA) doctors in states that have legalized medical marijuana.
