A CBD infused Picnic!

A CBD infused Picnic!

Have you been keeping up with our blog posts and articles? Well, if you have not, you are missing out on some excellent studies and some awesome Infusion recipe ideas! Just a beginner and looking for the basics? Check out this article for some basic CBD info, and give this one a click if you need to know to infuse your favorite products. With spring just around the corner, I thought it would be a good idea to get a jump start on some special infusions for the warm weather! What is a staple of many of those warm summer days/nights? A picnic! Get your blanket, basket and let’s get packing!

So, any good picnic needs to have a couple tasty courses, right?! Let’s see what we have in our fridge to make this picnic a great one. First, keep in mind, most picnics take place outside. (I know, real shocker) And some will involve taking a hike and walking in the heat. Don’t forget to hydrate!

Beverages:

Probably the easiest way to infuse CBD, but one of the most important. Not only hydration, but water-soluble products are more bioavailable. Don’t understand bioavailability? Follow this link to our water soluble information. Basically, water soluble products can get the CBD into your body faster. We offer a product that makes infusing your beverages super simple. That product is the Active Oil Water Soluble Tincture. Super simple, right?

Ideas:

Water, Juice, Cider, Sun Tea, etc.

Appetizer:

I like to think that eating a little bit helps warm up your stomach for more food. I have no science or reason to believe this, I just like having the excuse to always order appetizers at my favorite restaurant. Here are some simple ideas of things to infuse. Never be afraid to be creative!

Ideas:

Veggies dipped in CBD infused Ranch Dip

Chips and CBD Salsa

Infused Cheesy Stuffed Mushrooms

Main Course:

Finally, the most important part of the picnic, the main course! This can make or break your picnic, so be sure to infuse wisely. I personally like the meats, however there is nothing wrong with keeping it light.

Ideas:

Turkey Sliders, Burgers, Italian Sandwich (Meats, Cheese with Olive Oil and oregano)

Condiments:

You can’t forget the condiments! How else can I hide my inability to cook from my girlfriend? Most can be infused by simply adding isolate to the oil-based condiment. Some others may take some playing around with. Remember, be creative, the sky's the limit!

Ideas:

Ketchup, Mustard, Mayo, Salad dressing, Guacamole

Dessert:

Can’t plan a meal without dessert! Well, I mean, you can. However, I doubt it will be as enjoyable! This is probably the most commonly infused part of the meal. Generally, infusing butter or vegetable oil is the most popular, because most snacks involve these ingredients. But no one wants to be “one with the crowd”. Break out of the “norm”, be creative. Everybody loves a classic, but infused brownies can get boring after a while.

I have a couple healthy options:

Banana Bites

Honey Oatmeal Cookies

As well as some “Not so Healthy” (My favorite) options:

Infused Coconut Bombs

Cookies, Brownies, Cake, Muffins, etc.

Don’t forget about your 4-legged hiking buddy! Dog treats are super simple to make and you can flavor them specifically for your dog. Simply add some water-soluble tincture to your dog’s water during the hike or make a special treat just for them! Here is a link if you need the basics of dog treat creation.

No matter what you choose, it really does not matter compared to the company you choose to spend the picnic with! So, get your loved ones or your favorite furry hiking buddy, get hiking, get active and be healthy.
