Our "Let's Go Outside" campaign was launched earlier this month to promote individuals to get ACTIVE in the area that they live. "Let's Go Outside" aims to offer a collection of places to visit that are 100% free and 100% fun. Our first "Let's Go Outside" featured Colorado Springs, the home location of our store. We are continuing this campaign with a city close to my heart and just a few miles from Colorado Springs - Pueblo, Colorado!
I am originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - known as the Steel City. Who would have guessed that I would move across the country from one famous Steel City to another? Pueblo is Colorado's own Steel City. Pueblo is also known as the Home of Heroes since they are the only city in America with four living recipients of the Nation's high award for heroism - The Medal of Honor. Pueblo mixes the best of both worlds - the convenience and amenities of a big city combined with down to earth, friendly people who really care about their community.
1. Pueblo Reservoir
The Pueblo Reservoir is filled with beautiful, blue waters contrasted by the rough, cliff rock structures that surround the reservoir. There are lots of great hiking trails of various difficulties. Easy, wide paths by the water are perfect for those looking to stay cool and have a relaxing hike. The elevation of the rock structures allow for mountain biking and more strenuous hiking. Boating, fishing and camping are also available at the reservoir for a fee.
2. Historic Riverwalk
3. Mauro Farms (Pueblo Green Chilies)
4. Pueblo City Park
Additional Bishop's Caste - San Isabel Mts.(Outside Pueblo, but worth the drive!)
