CBD Infused Cat Treats
CBD Infused Cat Treats
Earlier this week we featured homemade CBD doggie treats, today we will be featuring CBD cat treats! If you have both a dog and a cat (or many of both!), you can use the same 99% CBD isolate. If you have already made our CBD Infused Dog Treats, you will be one step ahead for this recipe. You will only be using 1/8th gram of 99% CBD Isolate for this recipe. If you made the dog treats, you will already have tablespoons of infused coconut oil that you can use, if not – Mix the entire gram of 99% CBD Isolate into 8 tablespoons of coconut oil. You will only need 1 of those tablespoons of infused coconut oil – the rest can be stored in the fridge for other recipes or new batches of treats.
Ingredients:
2 medium sized sweet potatoes, mashed
½ cup flour
1 egg
¼ cup gelatin powder
1 can (drained) tuna
½ cup coconut oil + 1 tablespoon of coconut oil infused with 1/8th gram of 99% CBD Isolate
Directions:
First, you are going to mix 8 tablespoons of coconut oil (you will only use one of those tablespoons of infused coconut oil) into an entire gram of 99% CBD Isolate.
Preheat Oven to 350 degrees
Mix 1 tablespoon of coconut oil infused with the Isolate with a ½ cup of regular coconut oil
Mix all other ingredients into a medium sized bowl
Use a Fork to mash everything together and evenly mix to ensure larger chunks of tuna/sweet potato are mashed up.
Add extra flour as needed to get the dough the consistency of play-dough
Roll into 1 inch or smaller balls
Use a fork to mash down and create little “cookie”
Bake for 20 minutes
At the end you should have about 30-40 mini cookies with around 3.5mg of CBD per cat treat.

FAQ

As with any other type of consumable product, whether it is healthy or not depends on how much CBD is actually in the treat, ingredients are being used to make the treats, and your cat's individual health history. Some CBD treats for cats have only a very small amount of CBD in them and are mostly made of other ingredients such as chicken or salmon. Other CBD cat treats have a higher concentration of CBD oil and hemp extract. It is important to read the label to determine how much CBD is in the treat before giving it to your cat.
CBD may take up to an hour to take effect. However, some cats may experience relief sooner than that. CBD is a natural compound and it will work differently for each individual cat. Some cats may need to take CBD daily to maintain relief, while others may only need it occasionally. If you are considering CBD for your cat, talk to your veterinarian first. CBD may not be right for every cat, and there are some potential side effects to be aware of. Your veterinarian can help you decide if CBD is the right treatment for your cat's condition.
CBD (cannabidiol) is one of many naturally occurring cannabinoids found in cannabis. Unlike THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), CBD has no psychoactive effects, meaning it cannot get you high. It does, however, have enormous potential to benefit a cat's health and well-being. Scientists have uncovered that CBD interacts with the endocannabinoid system in a variety of ways that can help maintain internal balance and homeostasis. Because CBD doesn't target specific receptors , it produces very few side effects when used medicinally . In addition, CBD is non-psychoactive so it will not cause any undesirable effects such as lethargy or impaired thinking.
Although research into the effects of CBD on animals has only recently begun to take off, early studies show promising results when using cannabidiol products for dogs and cats. There is no one definitive answer to this question. It is possible that a cat could overdose on CBD oil, but it would depend on the individual cat's physiology and how much CBD oil was consumed. If you are considering using CBD oil to treat your cat, it is important to speak with your veterinarian beforehand to ensure that it is safe for your pet and to find out the correct dosage. Cats have a much higher metabolism than humans, so they will need a smaller dose of CBD oil than a human would
