CBD & THC: The Benefits of Mixing Them

CBD & THC Together?

THC & CBD are the most popular cannabinoids of our time. They are great by themselves and even better together. We’ll be discussing how THC can enhance CBD’s effects known as the entourage effect, how CBD can reduce the psychoactive effects of THC, and how to mix the two.

What is the Entourage Effect?

While full spectrum CBD tends to be the most bitter form of CBD, it could also be the most beneficial. The entourage effect is the theory referring to the combination of cannabinoids working synergistically to give a more therapeutic effect versus using CBD isolate alone. Based on my experience, I’ve preferred the effects our Active full spectrum provided me rather than our Active isolate based tinctures. Since everyone’s bodies differ, what works for me might not work for you. It’s worth it to do some research and try a product that feels right for you.

Could CBD help if you’re too high?

These days, THC products are incredibly potent and can provide intense psychoactive effects. If you are someone who uses THC to reduce chronic pain and you don’t love the psychoactive effects that come with traditional THC, consider mixing your THC flower with our CBD flower. You can only find our CBD flower in store. It comes in seven unique strains including indica, sativa and hybrid. My personal favorite is our Cherry Wine, but every strain has aromatic and tasty flavors that could pair well with a variety of traditional THC flower.

How should I be mixing CBD & THC?

A little goes a long way! Start with small amounts of THC, such as 5-10mg, whether its traditional Delta 9, Delta 8, HHC, or THC-O. For dosing CBD, use around 5-15mg to start. Some people find that they need CBD doses around 20-30mg. At the Denver Iliff store, we have seen people mix CBD: THC 1:1 or 2:1.  Another factor to consider is timing, play with taking CBD before THC, taking CBD after THC or at the same time. Due to everyone’s body being so incredibly diverse and unique, it’s best to start with lower doses and see what combination feels the best for you. Take everything with a grain of salt! It might take a bit of experimenting, but don’t feel discouraged if your first experience doesn’t go as expected.
