FDA to Hold Meeting Discussing CBD

Are you or is someone you know an avid CBD user? Then the Food & Drug Administration wants to hear from you! The FDA is set to hold meetings discussing the benefits and possible side effects of CBD.

The FDA looks over food, pharmaceutical drugs, and cosmetics. CBD has slowly started to dominate in all of these categories, especially since the passing of the Farm Bill back in December 2018.  As the FDA starts to figure out the regulations of these products, they want to hear from the consumers themselves.

The meeting is planned to be held on May 31st in Maryland, and they will be discussing various aspects in this meeting such as; health and safety risks; manufacturing and product quality; marketing, labeling, and sales. If you would like to speak at the meeting come May 31st you must let them know by May 10th. If you are selected to speak you must submit your presentation by May 28th to the email stakeholderengagement@fda.hhs.org with the subject line “Scientific Data and Information about Products Containing Cannabis or Cannabis-Derived Compounds." Although the meeting takes place May 31st, you can submit a written or electronic statement up until July 2nd. To submit your statement follow the link to the federal register and follow the instructions.
