In recent years more and more positive research has come out about the potential health benefits of CBD but many people are misinformed or have misconceptions about CBD. Some of these myths include the idea that CBD is illegal, CBD gets you high, CBD means ‘good’ but THC means ‘bad’, CBD has no side effects, and CBD is a “cure all” for any issue. This blog will explore each of these points and offer an explanation and information about each of these misconceptions.

Most people have heard or know of PMS, but have you ever heard of PMDD? Premenstrual Syndrome, PMS, is the change in physical and emotional reactions that occur between ovulation and the start of one’s period for those that have a uterus. Symptoms usually present themselves in the form of cramping, mood swings, tender breasts, fatigue, cravings, etc. Not everyone experiences PMS, but most people have mild symptoms, while for others they can seem pretty intense. For a very small percentage of people, somewhere between 5%-8% of those with menstruation cycles, experience something much more intense. Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder, or PMDD, is a very extreme and severe type of PMS.

Discovering Terpenes: Myrcene

Discovering Terpenes: Myrcene

broad spectrumJake Schaefer
In the last few years, cannabinoids like CBD and THC have taken the world by storm, and considering all the potential benefits they can offer, it really comes as no surprise. What might surprise you though is the fact that there is another entirely different collection of compounds in the cannabis plant that could offer their own unique set of benefits. Terpenes are the source of a plant's aromas and, when smoked, provide a litany of flavors as well. Ask any cannabis enthusiast their favorite strain and you’re more than likely to get a description of both these features. Ask them to pick out a new strain to try, and they’ll probably smell the options more than look at them. So why do we put so much stock into something so simple as smell when it comes to hemp or marijuana products? The simple answer is that the terpenes can make just as big of a difference as the cannabinoid content, and provide additional or synergistic benefits of their own. The most commonly found terpene in commercial cannabis plants, and their derived products, is called myrcene.
