CBD Chocolate Peppermint Bark
September 06, 2019The holiday season is upon us – bring on the cookies, cakes, candies and hot cocoa! Nothing makes me happier than spending the holidays with my family and crafting sweets to help warm the coldest and darkest nights of the year. With all the cooking, crafting, decorating and gifting, it can be hard to find time for relaxation and rest. There isn’t a better way to get through the holidays than with our healthy, CBD infused version of Peppermint Bark! This recipe was modified from Britt's Blurbs and is gluten-free, vegan and totally delicious.
Ingredients:
• 2 ½ cups melted coconut oil
• 1 gram of CBD Isolate Powder
• 1 ¼ cup cocoa powder
• ½ cup honey or Agave
• 10 candy canes
• Peppermint extract (optional)
Instructions
- Pour the melted coconut oil in a big mixing bowl. I microwave mine for around 1 minute.
- Decide your CBD potency with the chart below!
Pick Your Potency | Exact Scale Measurement | Adding to a larger base |
Low – 250mg of CBD | 0.25 grams of isolate | Add the entire gram of CBD isolate into 10 cups of coconut oil. You will only use 2 ½ cups of oil for this recipe. 10 cups will make 4 batches. |
Medium – 500mg of CBD | 0.50 grams of isolate | Add the entire gram of CBD isolate into 5 cups of oil. You will only use 2 ½ cups of oil for this recipe. 5 cups will make 2 batches. |
High – 1000mg of CBD | 1 full gram of isolate | Add the whole gram in step 3 to the 2 1/2 cups of oil. |
- Stir in the amount of CBD isolate from the chart above.
- Stir in the cocoa powder and honey or agave.
- Add peppermint extract to taste (I add about 2-3 drops.)
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Pour the chocolate mix into the baking sheet.
- Begin smashing and breaking apart the 10 candy canes.
- Put the chocolate mix in the freezer for about 2 minutes to get the bottom to harden slightly.
- Take out and sprinkle the candy cane pieces on top.
- Place back into the freezer for at least 30 minutes until hard.
- Cut the bark into pieces.
*Keep cold as coconut oil will begin to melt with heat.
