Spooky CBD Infused Treats

Halloween is nearly here—and whether you are celebrating on the actual holiday or on the weekend we wanted to share some recipes to get you in the spirit!

We have included sweet treats that infuse CBD with the flavors of fall along with spooky drinks.

Please keep in mind these treats are for adults only!

Graveyard Chocolate Cupcakes:
Cupcakes—

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix (any brand)
  • 1 box instant chocolate pudding
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ½ cup CBD infused oil (You can use 1 gram of Active CBD isolate in 1 cup of oil; use only half for this recipe. For more on how to infuse read this blog post https://discovercbd.com/blogs/cbd-news/adding-cbd-to-a-larger-base)
  • ½ cup brewed espresso (You can also use strong black coffee)
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Frosting—

  • 11 ounces dark chocolate (The better the quality the better the flavor)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • Toppers---
  • 6 chocolate sandwich cookies (Think Oreo)
  • 24 oval shaped cookies (Flat for writing on)
  • Black edible marker

Instructions—

  1. Preheat oven to 350F. Place cupcake liners in the pan.
  2. Using an electric mixer on low beat together dry cake and pudding mixes. Stir in sour cream, CBD oil, coffee, and eggs. Beat until everything is just combined; batter will be thick. Fold in chocolate chips.
  3. Fill cupcake cups a little more than half full.
  4. Bake for 15-25 minutes or until tops spring back when touched. Remove from oven and cool completely on wire rack before frosting. (Cooking times vary, you can always insert a wooden toothpick in the center and if it comes out clean, they are done.)
  5. While the cupcakes are cooling, chop dark chocolate into small pieces and place in a double boiler (or you can use a stainless-steel bowl suspended over boiling water). Stir until just melted and smooth.
  6. Remove melted chocolate from heat and allow to cool slightly before stirring in sour cream. Chill in refrigerator for 10 minutes.
  7. Spread a layer of the frosting onto each cupcake, covering the entire top to the edges.
  8. Crush sandwich cookies into crumbs (feel free to use a food processor or blender) and dip each frosted cupcake into the cookie crumbs to create the illusion of dirt on the top.
  9. Use the edible marker to write gravestone messages on the oval cookies and press them into the cupcakes (standing up). If you're having trouble getting the cookies to stay upright, use some of the frosting as glue.

Makes 24 servings. Do you want to include how much CBD? Approximately 20mg CBD per cupcake


Roasted Pumpkin Seeds infused with CBD:
What you need--

  • 1 ½ cups pumpkin seeds (save them after carving yours!)
  • 1 Tablespoon CBD infused oil (You can use 1 gram of Active CBD isolate in 1 cup of oil; use only the recommended serving for this recipe. For more on how to infuse read this blog post https://discovercbd.com/blogs/cbd-news/adding-cbd-to-a-larger-base)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Pepper (to taste)
  • Any other seasoning blend to flavor to taste. (garlic powder, chili powder, etc.)

Instructions—

  1. Preheat oven to 300F.
  2. Toss pumpkin seeds with CBD infused oil and seasonings.
  3. Spread seeds on baking sheet and bake until just starting to brown. (about 30 minutes).
  4. Let cool and enjoy! Store leftovers in an airtight container. Approximately 62.5mg CBD per batch

 

CBD Infused Blood Floats:
What you need--

  • 4 cups grape juice (pick your favorite)
  • 750 ml sparkling white wine (or use apple cider to make non-alcoholic)
  • ½ cup lime juice
  • 1 pint raspberry sorbet
  • 8 to 10 drops of Active CBD Oil water soluble tincture (choose from various strengths.)

Instructions--

  1. Combine all of the liquids, including the CBD, into a pitcher and stir.
  2. Place (at least) one scoop of raspberry sorbet into each glass.
  3. Fill the rest of the glass with pitcher concoction.

Makes 8 servings.


Vampire Vodka Cocktail:
What you need--

Red Blood Syrup—

  • ½ cup light agave syrup
  • ½ cup grated red beet
  • ½ cup pomegranate juice

Cocktail—

  • ½ oz. lime juice (fresh is best)
  • 1 oz. grapefruit juice (fresh is best)
  • 2 oz. vodka (any brand)
  • 1-2 drops Active CBD Oil water soluble tincture (choose your strength)

Instructions--

  1. To make syrup combine pomegranate juice, agave syrup and beet in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Strain and boil again. Continue cooking the mixture on medium heat for about 5 minutes. The syrup should reduce to about ¾ cup. You will get about 8 servings out of this and can store in refrigerator for up to a month.
  2. Combine vodka, CBD tincture, lime, and grapefruit juice in a shaker. Shake, pour over ice, add syrup to taste.
