Why CBD is a Great Daily Supplement

Posted by Leah Concialdi on

CBD is standing out in the spotlight when it comes to awareness, hemp research, and a vast amount of studies exploring its potential medical benefits. More and more, we are reading about and receiving messages where CBD is believed to have changed peoples’ lives who suffer from chronic pain, anxiety, seizures, depression, insomnia, and countless other conditions. In addition to its potentially profound effects on these ailments, it is also beneficial being taken as a daily supplement even for those who are perfectly healthy. Today’s blog is going to detail some of these benefits:

1.) It can be a natural sleep aid

We live a busy world often dominated by multi-tasking, instant information, and rarely getting time to genuinely relax and wind down. With thoughts constantly spinning around in your head, it can be difficult to sleep even if you don’t have clinical insomnia. Ironically enough, cannabidiol activates the same adenosine receptors as caffeine, a stimulant known for waking you up and heightening alertness. However, there are countless reports of people taking CBD before bed and feeling balanced, relaxed, and centered. It will be interesting to see what medical studies will come out of the woodwork and if it will reveal any evidence linking CBD to sleep.

2.) It may contribute to cancer prevention

Not only have there been reports of CBD potentially being linked to shrinking tumors and preventing cancer from spreading, some believe it prevents cancer before it even starts. That would be astonishing considering cancer can affect 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women in United States and is predicted to double by 2050 (Surveillance Epidemiology and End Results [SEER]). For detailed information about CBD/cannabis and cancer, check out this overview of the use of cannabis and its components as treatment for people with cancer.

3.) It can potentially regulate the immune system

Even if you don’t suffer from an auto-immune disease, immune system regulation can prevent sickness, give you fewer headaches, alleviate allergies, decrease pain, and more. This is yet another facet of CBD that has yet to be clinically proven as treatment, but some have found that at optimal concentrations as a supplement gives them less of a chance to develop Type 1 diabetes, arthritis, lupus and more later in life.

4.) It could reduce inflammation

Whether its replacing Advil to relieve headaches or being used to treat arthritis, many have reported that CBD may have contributed to finding relief in both mild and severe inflammation conditions. A study at Imperial College in London tested CBD on mice that had a semblance of rheumatoid arthritis. Their inflammation decreased by 50%.

These are only four of the top reasons to take CBD as a daily supplement. With awareness increasing and new processing methods being developed, CBD is being distributed more than ever at affordable prices.
